ITS ALL BULL

STOP THE BULL FIGHTING CRIME

The metal bull sculpture  in New York's wall street district should be dedicated to the memory of all the bulls that are mercilessly tortured and killed for human bull fighting pleasure. It will remain a testimony that animal rights activist, despite their many
attempts, have not been able to scratch the surface of the strong support in certain countries that derives profit and pleasure from this sadistic "sports" activity.

This is not only  the fault of those who organize these events but also all those who pay for actually viewing them and hence support this cruel activity. This shows that cruelty to animals is widely acceptable to humans.

However when a human gets hurt then if becomes a big news story.  In a recent public bull run event in Spain,  one paticipant was killed by the bull. One news story stated "A minute of silence was to be observed in memory of the late Spaniard, identified as Daniel Jimeno Romero, 27, from Alcala de Henares, a town outside Madrid".

When I read stories about a bull hurting a matador or fatally injuring him, I celebrate a small victory for the bull whose fate was sealed when he entered the ring. It is sad for thoses who get fatally hurt in this activity because they just did not have the mature sense to make the right decision and were probably brain washed by the thrill and hype of this sport.

Is there anybody who disagrees with me ? Maybe our  Spanish or Mexicans friends might have a different view point.  I will like to hear your feedback.

Bull gores man to death in Spain
10 Jul 2009

A young Spanish man has been gored to death in the traditional running of the bulls in Pamplona, northern Spain.

The 27-year-old was gored in the neck on Friday, during the fourth bull run of the week-long San Fermin festival.

Daniel Jimeno Romero, from near Madrid, had emergency surgery in hospital but died of his injuries. Earlier reports had described the dead man as British.

Three other runners were injured by the rogue bull on Friday. The last fatal goring at the festival was in 1995.

What happens in a bullfight?

There are usually six separate fights and each lasts around 20 minutes. Like a play, bullfighting is all about characters and the main characters are the cavaleiros, matadors and forcardas.

The horsemen target the bulls with spears and darts tipped with what looks like brightly-coloured tinsel.

At the end of a fight in Portugal, the bull is dragged out of the ring and is usually taken to a butcher to be killed.

Young matador, 11, slaughters six bulls
25th January 2009

A child matador has infuriated animal rights activists by killing six young bulls in a bid to have his name entered in the Guinness Book of Records.

Michelito Lagravere, who is just 11, believes he should hold the world record for his controversial feat.

A judge gave the go-ahead for the child to fight six calves aged from one to two years after reviewing licences submitted by Mr Lagravere.

Animal rights groups and child protection officials had pleaded with authorities to suspend the event.

But now a video of the fight will be sent to Guinness for consideration for a world record - for the number of bulls killed and the age of the bullfighter.

Michelito has killed dozens of bulls in Mexico since he was six years old.

The anti-bullfighting alliance in France said it had targeted him over other younger matadors because ‘he fights in corridas aiming to kill’.

Despite opposition from animal rights activists, bullfighting remains a popular spectacle in countries such as Mexico, Spain and parts of France.
